RVA PARK(ing) Day took place on Friday in an effort to fulfill the suggestion from the international event to “reclaim your city.” The placement on West Main Street between Laurel and Cherry streets on the Virginia Commonwealth University Monroe Park campus. There were waves of hundreds of students walking by and many stopped to ask what the parking space takeover was about and some even stopped by to sit in on the patio furniture among the pleasantly landscaped space, complete with a brick paver patio, bushes, trees and even real grass.
